{"id":500,"date":"2023-03-25T00:07:41","date_gmt":"2023-03-25T00:07:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brigittepoetry.com\/?p=500"},"modified":"2026-05-06T17:33:59","modified_gmt":"2026-05-06T17:33:59","slug":"the-rhine-river-der-rhein","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/demo.germanpoetry.com\/de\/the-rhine-river-der-rhein\/","title":{"rendered":"The Rhine River &#8211; Der Rhein"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>Rhein!<\/em><\/strong> Schon als Kind haben mich deine Ufer magisch angezogen,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>sp\u00fcrte ich die Kraft deiner Wasser, die sich ihren Weg durch Berge und Gestein<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>seit Millionen von Jahren bahnen, dachte an die Quellen und fernen Berge,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>an die St\u00e4dte, die du bereits gesehen hattest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Du bringst ihnen jetzt, wie vor hundert Jahren, Leben. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ich tr\u00e4umte von dem Ozean, in dem deine Reise endet<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>bis ich eines Tages wirklich das Meer erreichte,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>und im Rauschen der Wellen zur\u00fcck an jenes Kind denke,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>das an deinen Ufern von den fernen L\u00e4ndern,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>die hinter dir und noch vor dir liegen tr\u00e4umte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Rhine River<\/em><\/strong>, as a child, I was already magically drawn to your banks,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>feeling the power of your streaming waters,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>which had carved their ways through rocks for millions of years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I saw the mighty ships passing by, followed by ocean like waves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I thought of the mountains you came from,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>was thinking of the cities you had seen already,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>had brought life &#8211; now and centuries before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One day, I  reached the ocean, where your journey ends;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>and while I am listening to the sounds of the waves,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am thinking of this child,  sitting once by your banks,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>dreaming of the countries you came from,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>and the sea are going to in the endless circle of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-pale-ocean-gradient-background has-background\"><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rhein!
